4.00 Curragh

Free Solo ran an excellent race at the Galway Festival when last seen, finishing second of 16 in a competitive handicap, plugging on up the hill in gutsy fashion. Life will be harder now up 3lb without the claimer but Murphy could work his magic.

4.40 Curragh

Murphy comes over for the ride in the Group 1 Pheonix Stakes aboard Donnacha O’Brien’s Porta Fortuna. This filly is unbeaten in three starts, winning her maiden at the Curragh, the Fillies’ Sprint Stakes at Naas and the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. She is a major player once again.

5.10 Curragh

Livingston Range won an apprentice handicap at Naas last month but failed to get into things at the same track a couple of weeks later, possibly unsuited by the soft conditions. If the ground doesn’t get on the soft side today, he’s a big player.

5.40 Curragh

Murphy’s final ride of the day is aboard the Lupini runner Running Cool, who has won two of his last three starts. He landed the double at Cork in June and disappointed when sent off favourite there when last seen. He can bounce back to form and Murphy could bring out some further improvement.
