There’s plenty to look forward to for horse racing fans this week and it’s Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday. It should be a phenomenal day of racing, with no fewer than four Group 1 races on the card. The Group 2 Long Distance Cup and the Balmoral Handicap are also excellent support races. We’ve selected an ante-post tip for each Group 1 and they combine to form a monster 220-1 accumulator. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Kinross (9-4, bet365) comes alive at this time of year and he was an easy winner of this race in 2022. Ralph Beckett’s charge was only just denied in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp last time out and he has every chance of providing Frankie Dettori with another Group 1 victory.
Free Wind (7-2, bet365) is yet to win a Group 1 but she came very close in the Yorkshire Oaks on her penultimate start. Things didn’t go to plan in the Arc last time out but she’s much better than that and should be right in the mix here. She has previously won a Group 2 on soft ground and should therefore cope with the conditions, if the current going description is maintained.
Paddington (7-4, Bet365) has been unbelievable this season. He began the campaign by winning a handicap off 97, before going on to win four consecutive Group 1 races. It was one run too many when third at York last time out and he’ll have benefitted from a short break. Aidan O’Brien’s three-year-old will be difficult to beat if back to his best.
Mostahdaf (9-2, bet365) was a blistering winner of the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes here in June and he followed up in the Juddmonte International at York last time out. John & Thady Gosden’s horse appears to have the best form on offer and should be capable of getting his head in front once again.
