At the time of writing this article, Kipp Kelly is the best-backed horse of the entire day and Derek Shaw’s runner will take his chance in the penultimate race on Wolverhampton’s card, which is a 5f classified stakes contest.
The race has been made all the more interesting by the fact Irish raider Phil’s Dream takes his chance again after finishing second in a C&D handicap when last seen in January and John McConnell’s runner certainly commands respect in this grade of race.
Kipp Kelly was a game winner of a similar race over C&D last month but was well beaten at Southwell next time. However, he ran a big race at Newcastle when last seen, finishing third of nine in a similar contest to this, and returning to the scene of his last win is a positive.
He opened up double-figure odds but has been supported all the way down to 4/1 this morning so there is certainly a weight of confidence behind his chances here tonight. Let’s see if the support continues throughout the day but it should be an intriguing race.
