Market Mover Alert: Horse backed from 25-1 into 7-1 at Chelmsford

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 3.25pm at Chelmsford Racecourse today. 3.25 Chelmsford

Trainer Stuart Williams is well known for being able to land a substantial gamble from time to time, and it looks like one of his runners today may have a chance of coming home in front. The horse in question is Bear Profit, who will have the talented Marco Ghiani in the saddle.

Bear Profit has been backed from 25s all the way into 7s at the time of writing this article, and some places have him as short as 5s too. The son of Profitable won a race over course and distance this time last year from a mark of 80, but since then he has tumbled down the weights and can now race off just 74 today.

When money comes for a Williams horse, it usually frightens the life out of everyone else in the race, as they seldom leave a proper gamble behind them. It will be interesting to see if sustained support continues for this runner and if it does, he must have a huge chance at these weights.
