Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 3.05pm at Chepstow Racecourse today. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.
Despite this 1m handicap proving to look like a very competitive contest on paper, the weight of money surrounding Spirit Of The Bay this morning has been telling, and the top weight has been backed from 16/1 all the way into 4/1 in places at the time of writing this article.
Trained by training duo John & Rhys Flint, a very shrewd outfit indeed, the 7yo mare has a true liking for Chepstow, with two wins and a close third at the track from three career starts around here. Some horses are built for certain courses, and it’s evident that she really likes it here.
Spirit Of The Bay gained a second course win here in July over 1m2f, but she is just as effective over the mile and followed up with a close third over C&D on her next start. She found a Racing League handicap at Windsor too hot to handle when last seen, but returning to this venue and dropping back down in grade means she has to be seriously considered. Taylor Fisher takes off a handy 3lb in the saddle.
