Lucky 15: In-form Dan Skelton sends a strong raiding party up to Ayr on Monday

The last seven days have been pretty profitable for the Skelton brothers, as they’ve had eight winners from 26 runners before Sunday’s action. This strike-rate of 30 per cent is particularly healthy and a treble at Southwell on Wednesday, as well as a double at Cheltenham on Friday certainly bodes well.

Dan Skelton is sending five runners up to Ayr on Monday so we’ve combined his four best chances into a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.17 Ayr

Country Mile finished second in a point-to-point back in December and fetched £80,000 at the sales. He made the perfect start to his career under rules when winning a bumper at Huntingdon in good style back in April and the second boosted the form by winning over hurdles next time. Further progress is expected now hurdling and he looks like the one to beat.

2.55 Ayr

Entity Of Substanz didn’t show a great deal in two starts over hurdles last term but there were some more positive signs at Warwick on seasonal debut. Keeping on despite getting outpaced that day, the step back up in trip could suit and the five-year-old is likely to improve for the run.

3.28 Ayr

Home Free remains lightly raced, especially in handicap company, and he got off the mark over fences at the second time of asking at Uttoxeter recently. A 4lb rise isn’t expected to make much difference here and his current mark may underestimate him by some way, as further progress is anticipated.

4.03 Ayr

Dalston Lad ran out an impressive winner on his sole start in Irish points and subsequently switched hands for £115,000. The son of Ocovango clearly has a sizeable engine and one would imagine he’ll be bang in the mix here.
