Sam Ewing had a Christmas that he will never forget when on a rollercoaster afternoon he completed a staggering 12,662-1 treble sealed by 66-1 shot Favori De Champdou’s win in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown on December the 27th.

It would have been even better if Talk The Talk had stayed on his feet in a Grade 1, only to fall at the last hurdle, a race where Ewing had picked up another spare ride off the back of JJ Slevin’s misfortune.

Ewing now travels to Scotland on Friday for four rides for Irish handler Stuart Crawford, and they form a Lucky 15! He has a 20 per cent strike-rate at the track in the last five seasons.
