Lincoln ante-post tip: Grab the early value while you can as it might not last!

The Flat season is back with a bang and the Lincoln is one of the most exciting handicaps of the season. Due to run next Saturday at Doncaster, what horse is the value at present? Adrian Wall really likes the look of a 16/1 chance.

3.35 Doncaster on Saturday

John and Thady Gosden won this handicap in 2021 with 4yo Haqeeqy and I am very interested in a horse with a similar profile this year in the shape of Mudbir, and the available 16/1 could turn out to be a cracking price come the day if he takes his chance.

The son of Kingman is closely related to dual Group 1 winner Nazeef, and is a half-brother to the top-class Mostahdaf. He won three of his five outings last year, firstly a Chelmsford maiden last May before winning Sandown and Goodwood handicaps off marks of 89 and 91.

Mudbir was below his best when sent off favourite for another Goodwood handicap later in that month (August) but he didn’t seem to go as well in the first-time cheekpieces so it will be interesting to see if they are kept on for his reappearance run.]

He won first time up last year so there should be no fitness concerns on that front and there’s every chance he’s going to transform into a horse much better than his current rating of 95 this year given his age and pedigree.

The stable have started the year in okay form with two winners from eight runners and this boy should be fully primed to kick his season off with a bang! Grab the early value while you can as it might not last.
