Liam Bramall picked out Saturday’s 33/1 December Gold Cup winner last week and he’s back with another selection at double-figure odds. Faye Bramley’s Glengouly is an ex-Willie Mullins inmate who was expected to outrun his massive odds, and he certainly did that.
Sean Bowen made all the running aboard the nine-year-old and he managed to come out on top, despite being significantly out of the handicap.
It’s possible that Liam has found another potentially overpriced runner for the weekend action and this selection is currently available at 14/1. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Indeevar Bleu (14/1, Betfred) remains very lightly raced over hurdles and there’s plenty of scope for improvement with his current mark. Olly Murphy’s gelding won two of his three starts over hurdles last season and the first of those came in a Leicester novice hurdle last December.
It was a good performance off the back of a 393-day absence and he was beaten under a penalty at Haydock after that. Connections then decided to make the switch to handicaps and he produced a smart performance to return to winning ways at Ffos Las in April, albeit in a much lower grade.
The son of Blue Bresil confirmed he’s capable of competing at this level when finishing second in a hot race at Newbury last time on seasonal debut. That was certainly promising and he’s entitled to step forward for the run. It seems likely that the best is yet to come from him.
Joe Tizzard’s Alexei looks like the one to beat but it might be worth taking him on after a 13lb rise from the handicapper and Indeevar Bleu is a rock-solid option.
