Liam Bramall returns with 16/1 and 10/1 ante-post tips for Saturday’s racing

There’s some competitive racing to look forward to across both codes this weekend and the best action in Britain is provided by Haydock and Musselburgh.

Liam Bramall picked out the Ladbrokes Trophy and Morebattle Hurdle winners at 16/1 and 14/1 respectively in the last month or so and is back with another couple of each-way ante-post selections.

One of those runs in the Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh and the other in the Veterans Final at Haydock. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.20 Haydock

Numitor (10/1, bet365) has struggled in three starts this term but there were signs of a return to form when fourth at Exeter last time out. The handicapper has actually dropped the 12-year-old another 3lb since and he now finds himself on a mark which is 4lb lower than his last winning one.

That success came in a Class 2 at Ascot last March and he won that race over three miles with plenty in hand. Adaptable with regards to ground, he has won a couple of times on good and has even scored on heavy in the past. Conditions are likely to be on the quicker side and that won’t be a problem.

3.42 Musselburgh

Rhythm N Hooves (16/1, bet365) looks very well treated on some of his best form and managed to win off just a 2lb lower mark at Newbury last summer. Both of his turf successes have come on good to firm ground so he would definitely want it to stay dry between now and Saturday.

Robert Cowell’s six-year-old has slowly been returning to form since the turn of the year and was a respectable fourth on the all-weather last time out. The handicapper has responded by dropping him another 1lb since and should be capable of making the frame with that in mind.
