‘JP McManus can get the day off to a flyer’ – Adrian Wall’s three Killarney bets on Thursday

With the three days of Flat racing out of the way, the focus at Killarney turns to the jumps and we have a competitive card to look forward to on Thursday! The day could get off to the perfect start with a runner sporting the familiar JP McManus silks! Adrian Wall has his three best bets for the evening below.

5.01 Killarney

Son Of Anarchy should finally get off the mark in the opening extended 2m4f maiden hurdle. Trained by Gordon Elliott and owned by JP McManus, the six-year-old has some strong form in the book. He was fourth behind subsequent Albert Bartlett runner-up The Big Westerner on debut at Punchestown, and just bumped into a good Willie Mullins runner when the pair pulled well clear at that track on latest. He’s not the most fluent of jumpers but should be up to the job here.

5.32 Killarney

Redwood Queen went off a strong favourite when winning this extended 2m4f mares’ hurdle for Charles Byrnes last year, and she has to be of interest again on her first start for Cian Collins. Controversy surrounded this horse on her final start for Byrnes last time out when Philip Byrnes was unseated at the last flight with the race in full control. Did he jump off? We will never know! Anyways, she has a great chance on these terms.

6.02 Killarney

Eric McNamara is throwing the kitchen sink at Killarney this week and Hees Dynamite could be a bit of value in the extended 2m4f handicap hurdle. He finished his race off well when fifth at Punchestown over 3m on latest but he can do things from the front too and he will be dangerous if allowed to dictate down in trip.
