Oisin Murphy is in good form recently and his strike-rate over the last couple of weeks is very healthy indeed. Newbury has been a good track for him so far this season too, as he has eight winners from just 25 rides. This gives him a strike-rate of 32 per cent and he has a solid book of rides there on Tuesday. Here we take a look at his four best chances across the card. Lady Wingalong returned to form with a narrow second over 6f at Leicester last month and the handicapper has responded with a 2lb rise. That was arguably a career-best performance so further progress can’t be ruled out. Arguably better over shorter, she has won over this trip in the past.
Golden Redemption is still learning his job and his two runs on turf this summer have been promising. Andrew Balding’s three-year-old has already earned a rating of 76 and wasn’t beaten far when third in handicap company at York last time out. This is a winnable maiden and he should be in the mix.
Filly’s Last Lady arrives in excellent form and will be bidding to complete her hat-trick here. Handicaps have been the making of Keiran Burke’s lightly raced four-year-old and she had plenty in hand when winning over 6f at Chepstow last month.
Good Show was entitled to need the run at Goodwood last time out, as it was his first start for 708 days. He won off a 2lb lower mark at Hamilton in May 2023 and provided the trip doesn’t overstretch his stamina, a return to form can’t be ruled out.
