It’s a competitive day of racing on Wednesday, with meetings across Britain and Ireland. Exeter, Leicester, Newcastle and Plumpton are all on the docket, with Navan joining them in Ireland.
We’ll have horse racing tips on the website, including a NAP of the Day. Navan is a notoriously tough venue to get home in when the ground is heavy. You need a horse proven in the conditions to be successful and we’ve found three horses who fit that profile on Monday. The details can be found below.
Balko d’Ange has form figures on heavy ground that read 2424 and he has always relished underfoot conditions so he must have an each-way chance in the 2m handicap hurdle. A Listed winner on soft at Limerick in December of last year, he was beaten just two lengths at Tipperary from 1lb higher on his penultimate outing and was a creditable fourth on latest.
I’ll Sort That is a dual bumper winner who looked very classy and progressive when winning a 2m Listowel maiden hurdle in September before backing it up at Galway, although was lucky enough on the day. He will be a tough nut to crack and all of his form is on soft or heavy ground so conditions will be right up his street.
The Yellow Clay is a top-class hurdler, and a repeat of his second behind current Champion Hurdle favourite The New Lion at the Festival in March would be more than enough. He looked in need of the run when a faller at Punchestown on return but should be sharp now and he won a Grade 1 in January on heavy.
