‘It could be a great day for the yard’ – 713/1 Gordon Elliott Cheltenham treble on Friday

Cheltenham‘s two-day December meeting kicks off on Friday and as per usual there’s a strong Irish challenge. Gordon Elliott is sending over seven runners across three races and it could be a great day for the yard if successful. Here we take a look at the chances of his three most fancied runners and we’ve also combined them into a whopping 713/1 treble. Wingmen (5/2, William Hill) was put up by his trainer as a dark horse to follow this season and it’s easy to see why. Clearly he has a substantial engine as he won comfortably on hurdles debut, despite some sketchy jumping and he should improve on that front. Sam Ewing heads over to ride and this useful prospect could prove hard to beat.

1.15 Cheltenham

Media Naranja (16/1, William Hill) tends to run her race more often than not and she was a fair third in a better race at Fairyhouse when last seen. The five-year-old hasn’t won since her juvenile days but this is probably one of her easier recent assignments. Carl Millar takes 5lb off here and she’s capable of making the frame at the very least.

Coko Beach (11/1, William Hill) is a very useful horse on his day and added to that, his stamina is guaranteed. The son of Cokoriko was second in the Becher Chase off 162 last year and he’s currently on a 7lb lower mark.  He’s got more than enough ability to take this if on a going day and has won a Cross Country Chase at Punchestown in the past.
