It has been a terrific year for dual-purpose trainer James Owen and it’s a surprise to see Noisy Jazz (25/1) at such a big price in the opening 1m Listed Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket. A debut winner here on the July Course over this trip in August, she did disappoint at this grade at York next time but she bounced back to form when a close third at Windsor. It’s still early days for her and she’s not to be discounted.
Anything Jessica Harrington sends to Britain must be respected and Comic Book (20/1) should be well up to outrunning her odds. The daughter of Frankel won a 1m4f Bellewstown maiden in July before running big races in a Group 3 at Deauville and a Listed contest at Longchamp, beaten just over a length in both. There’s a chance she could improve on slightly easier ground and she’s well worth a crack at this.
An open renewal of the Rockfel and every horse has something to prove so it might be worth having a nibble on Karl Burke’s Serving With Style (33/1). She looked really good when landing her first two races at Carlisle and Goodwood and she wasn’t disgraced in Group 2 company last time on quicker ground. If there’s juice in the ground, she’s not one to write off.
