Irish raider: Joseph O’Brien sends one runner to Chepstow on Wednesday ☘️

Joseph O’Brien has had two runners at Chepstow during his career as a trainer and one of them was victorious. He sends one runner to the Welsh track on Wednesday and rather fittingly, it’s in the race he won last year. There’s every chance he can make it back-to-back victories in the Finale Juvenile Hurdle. 2.10 Chepstow

Harsh made a very good impression when running out a comfortable winner at Cork on just his second start over hurdles. He was third behind the highly promising Mighty Bandit on hurdles debut at Punchestown before that and clearly took a step forward last time.

This three-year-old was a fairly useful maiden on the Flat and came close to getting off the mark a couple of times. That includes his last run in a 1m4f maiden at Listowel, where he finished third by a narrow margin. O’Brien’s charge has made a good start to his hurdling career and there should be more to come.

It was perhaps a sensible move to swerve the Grade 2 juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown this week as avoiding Mighty Bandit is probably beneficial. Impressive Cheltenham winner Burdett Road is the odds-on favourite but Harsh is more than capable of giving him a run for his money.

Comfort Zone won this race for O’Brien last year and Jonjo O’Neil Jr was on board that day. The pair combine once again here and it would be unwise to rule them out.
