Horses for courses: Five runners with proven track records to follow on Friday

There are numerous factors to consider when trying to pick out a winner and course form is always an important one. With this in mind, we’ve picked out five horses running at Bath and Hereford on Friday that have a combined total of 23 course wins between them. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.25 Bath

Symbol Of Hope certainly knows his way around here, having had 20 starts at the track. All bar one of his six career wins have come here and he also has a further six placed efforts to his name. There were signs of a return to form when fourth here recently and he’s been dropped 1lb since. Last winning here in May 2023, he simply has to come into the equation now on a 5lb lower mark.

4.30 Bath

Sarah’s Verse is part of the furniture at Bath and she has finished in the first three in 12 of her 17 starts there. This includes five victories and the most recent of those came off a 3lb lower mark last month. Ron Harris’ seven-year-old  is likely to run her race once again.

5.30 Bath

Blue Hero tops the two previous selections with seven course wins and he’s very well handicapped on his best form. He won back-to-back starts here in July off marks of 58 and 62, albeit on good ground. Adrian Wintle’s six-year-old will appreciate the return to 1m2f and an improved effort is expected now down to a mark of 55.

5.55 Hereford

Mactavish has won two of his four starts at Hereford and he was a solid second on his first start after a break at Ludlow recently. He bumped into one when second over course and distance in January and he should be capable of winning off this mark.

6.30 Hereford

Ben Buie clearly enjoys himself around Hereford as the 10-year-old is unbeaten in three starts at the track. Martin Keighley’s gelding won here over 2m5f in October and a 4lb higher mark should be manageable.
