‘His price has capitulated’ – Three of the biggest market movers on Wednesday

Kempton Racecourse

It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on what the markets are doing, as they can definitely be informative. There are no guarantees in this game but it’s useful to know the level of confidence behind each horse.

We’ve picked out three substantial market movers at Lingfield and Kempton on Wednesday and they could be of interest. One was as big as 11/1 on Wednesday morning and the best available price at the time of writing is just 4/1. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.35 Lingfield

Giles Glory was as big as 11/1 and his price has capitulated. This 4/1 shot remains lightly raced nut we haven’t seen a great deal from him in six starts so far. Fourth but well beaten on his first attempt at this trip last time out, the handicapper has dropped him 3lb since then. It’s hard to know where that confidence has come from but it’s too early to write the three-year-old off just yet.

5.30 Kempton

Je Suis Celebre has more than halved in price, having been as big as 12/1, and Ian Williams’ four-year-old is now 11/2. The son of Massaat was a respectable fourth on debut at Wolverhampton last week and he’s entitled to step forward for that. It’s probably a weak enough novice and the odds-on favourite appears to be the only standout candidate in opposition.

6.00 Kempton

Triggerman represents the Julie Camacho yard and he has been backed into 7/2 from 9/1. He was a little disappointing at Newcastle last time, but has been dropped 1lb since, and his narrow third over this trip at Newcastle before that was a good effort. A return to winning ways can’t be ruled out but he doesn’t get his head in front too often.
