There hasn’t been a jockey you would want riding your horse at Newmarket‘s July course more than William Buick in the last couple of years. During the current campaign he has already amassed a total of 19 winners at Newmarket’s summer-only track. This puts him 11 winners ahead of the next jockey on the list and on a total of 39 over the last two seasons.
Buick is certainly the man around here and has another solid book of rides on Friday. We’ve put his four best chances into a Lucky 15 for you to consider. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Watcha Matey (15-2, bet365) has been thereabouts in all five starts so far. His best effort came on handicap debut at Leicester on his penultimate start and he was only just denied. Hugo Palmer’s colt should be in the mix once again and is capable of getting off the mark here.
De Bruyne (4-1, bet365) was third at Newbury off a mark of 72 on his penultimate start and beaten by just a length. If he can reproduce that form off a 1lb lower mark here it’s very possible that a return to winning ways could be on the cards.
Kingdom Of Time (2-1, bet365) makes his debut for Charlie Appleby in the Godolphin blue. He was an expensive purchase and one look at his pedigree will tell you why. His dam is related to the excellent Highland Reel and plenty will be expected of this son of Dubawi on debut.
Southwold (3-1, bet365) has been very consistent so far this season and won at Southwell back in February. It was a fine effort when second off a 1lb lower mark at Sandown last time out. This horse should be capable of reproducing that form and is likely to go close if doing so.
