‘He’s overpriced given the yard’ – three Saturday ITV outsiders to follow

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of ITV Racing outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.

2.05 Haydock Park

The 1m6f handicap is a competitive race on paper and one horse who might just be overlooked in the market is John & Thady Gosden’s Pappano (25/1), who is making his handicap debut from a reasonable mark. A winner over 1m4f at Wolverhampton in April, he has tackled Listed, Group 3 and Group 2 company since and has been out of his depth, but back in calmer waters we might see a bigger performance in the hands of Rab Havlin.

2.40 Haydock Park

Jamie Osborne’s Kolossal (50/1) had his first run for the yard when a respectable eighth in the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot. He was probably always going to need the run after an absence, but he can be expected to improve now. He won three times at Pattern class in Germany last year and although this is a Group 2, it wouldn’t be the strongest of renewals so he’s well worth his place in the field.

3.15 Haydock Park

King’s Code (28/1) was only beaten just over three lengths in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot last time and is now back down to a mark of 91, the same mark he finished second off at York in May. He was staying on well last time over the mile but clearly needs further and he has that here. He looks too big a price to ignore.
