Sometimes it’s not worth taking on the Willie Mullins-trained favourite and that’s the case here, as Karoline Banbou looks hard to oppose. She found only her stablemate too good last time and is entitled to improve for the run.

Rockymountainbleu got the better of subsequent winner Sounds Victorious in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown on his first start under rules and that form is hard to knock. He had a very difficult task on his hands when taking on Kitzbuhel and Colonel Mustard last time and this race looks much easier.

This looks like a tough race to decipher and with that in mind, Albatala‘s course and distance second last time out makes her the one to beat. She remains lightly raced in handicap company and should be winning races before long.

2.10 Down Royal

Bishbashbosh didn’t show a great deal when well beaten in four starts for previous connections but she appears to have turned a corner since joining Ross O’Sullivan. She wasn’t far away at Punchestown and Naas last month and another big run is expected here.

Nas Na Riogh is yet to show the same level of form over fences that he did over hurdles but he deserves another chance here. That aforementioned hurdles form suggests he’s been dangerously overlooked here and a reproduction of his game defeat of My Lyka last season would surely give him every chance.

Le Grand Vert was a cosy winner at Roscommon over the summer, although it’s fair to say that the handicapper didn’t miss that performance. Noel Kelly’s gelding finished second at Sligo in October and it’s certainly not out of the question that he can make the frame off 2lb higher now.

Money Heist progressed nicely to claim back-to-back chase victories last term and potentially remains unexposed over fences. He appeared to need the run when well beaten on seasonal debut at Navan and a sharper performance is anticipated this time around.
