Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV at York on Friday and they form a treble.
We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot a while back and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Trawlerman was the 2022 Ebor winner and he has transformed into a top stayer, winning the Long Distance Cup in 2023 and finally landing a Group 1 in the Gold Cup at Ascot in June. He has a penalty to carry for that but will take a lot of stopping if he is anywhere close to his best here, with little in the way of real proper challengers.
Egoli is a son of No Nay Never who built on a good debut run when landing a maiden over course and distance before landing the double of victories up in easy fashion under a penalty at Newbury. He was drawn on the wrong side of the track when finishing in front on his side in the Richmond when last seen and is arguably overpriced here.
Ryan Moore takes the ride on Sayidah Dariyan which could be a clue in itself. She won the Summer Stakes at this track last time out, finishing off her race really well, and is a live contender for the big one.
