We have action from Ballybrit to look forward to again on Tuesday as we gear up for the national hunt season. Adrian Wall has provided a selection for every race at Galway Racecourse, including Will The Wise who could transform into a smart stayer this coming season.
Getaways Charm is a big player judged on her Naas debut third and despite being poor in two subsequent outings, she has joined a new yard and has found a weak race to contest.
Torquay Road travelled really well through his race when landing a 14-runner 2m2f handicap hurdle at Sligo when last seen and will be a big player if he is able to handle this much stiffer track despite the 7lb rise.
Jacovec Cavern wasn’t disgraced in Grade 1 company for Emmet Mullins in the past and ran well in a first-time tongue-tie on latest when second of 14 in a 2m5f novice hurdle at Navan. He has to be a player off a mark of 114 back in a handicap.
Ladiam won over just shy of 2m5f at Sligo in June hit form again when second of 16 in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Navan last month. She has to enter calculations again.
Will The Wise could be a chaser for the notebooks this season. Sixth in last season’s Pertemps, he is being minded over fences to date, and will improve with each run. He is going to be aimed at Cheltenham again next March and is one to keep onside.
Quornofamonday is a player if he can recapture his Fairyhouse form in February, when winning there off 102. He is still 8lb higher now but was out of his depth at Punchestown on latest and is a player back in a handicap.
Mullaghgloss was subject to a big gamble at Listowel last month but he was ridden very ride in that bumper and was unable to finish out his race. Perhaps he’s worth one more try!
