Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV on Saturday and they form a treble.
We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot a while back and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Elmonjed must have a right chance. Blinkers brought out the best of this lad last term, landing the Series Final at Windsor before winning over C&D last August. He was a good second at Windsor on his latest start and sets the standard judged on that effort. He looks set to go close on this occasion.
Fearnot is a son of Invincible Spirit who got back to winning ways in stylish fashion over C&D in May. He ran an absolute cracker when beaten a neck into third of 30 in the Britannia Stakes here at the Royal meeting last month and he will surely go very well here again in a slightly easier contest.
Although we are massive supporters of Jan Brueghel and think the Ballydoyle runner will take all the beating, course lovers will have to side with Calandagan on this occasion. The French runner was a good winner of the King Edward at Royal Ascot last summer before running crackers in four Group 1s after. He won a French Group 1 on latest and will go well.
