Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out five former course winners running on ITV on Friday and they form a monster mega acca.
Phoenix Of Dreams was a marginal winner of a competitive C&D handicap a couple of weeks ago but showed plenty of courage on the run in and should be very competitive again from 2lb higher.
Yorkshire Glory has been in unbelievable form since the winter, notching an eighth win since them at Wolverhampton four days ago, seeing off a very good horse in the process. The 5lb penalty is offset by the return of the talented Harry Vigors. Big chance.
Sherlock seemingly absolutely loved the return to sprinting when winning here over 5f last month, hitting the line very hard. Will be very hard to beat with a reproduction of that.
Power Fizz is a C&D maiden winner after a breathing operation early last year before progressing to win at Newmarket and Ascot. The market has been strong for him this week and he could be ahead of the handicapper on return.
Sports Coach is progressive this year and cosily won a 5f handicap at Southwell this month. He has proven course form and is likely to run a big race. If the mega acca gets to this final leg, we are in for some sweat!
