Hereford has been good to Cobden so far this season and he’s operating at a strike-rate of 50 per cent, with four winners from his eight rides. Lau And Shaz placed in a few bumpers for Gavin Cromwell and wasn’t beaten too far when third behind Carrigmoornaspruce at Naas back in November 2024. She made the switch to Kayley Woollacott after a couple of disappointing efforts over hurdles and has shown improvement since.

The daughter of Kayf Tara won a mares ‘ maiden hurdle at Wincanton on Boxing Day, where she got the better of a Listed bumper winner, who went on to win her next start. Going fine when falling in a better race at Windsor last time out, another big run could be on the cards.

Lucky Bere won twice on the Flat in his native France and finished second or third in all four starts as a juvenile hurdler last term. He was less than a length away from winning when third in a fair race at Warwick last February and the first and third have boosted the form by winning since.

Progressing in handicaps this term, he produced an excellent performance to get off the mark at Wincanton last month. The five-year-old has been put up 7lb as a result but the performance indicated that there could be more to come in this sphere.
