Gavin Cromwell sends one runner on the 500-mile round trip to Kempton on Monday

Navan-based trainer Gavin Cromwell will send one horse on the 500-mile round trip to Kempton Racecourse on Monday from his base in Ireland, and it will be just his second career runner at the track on the Flat. Let’s take a look at the horse in more detail below, but you can also find all of our free horse racing tips on the website too.

2.08 Kempton Park

Taking her chance in a competitive renewal of the 1m3f maiden for fillies is Misty Cove for the Cromwell team, and she will be ridden by the very capable Saffie Osborne, who is also seeking her first winner of the year.

The Inns of Court filly was an eyecatcher on her debut over the mile at Dundalk last month when sent off a 28/1 chance. Held up in rear, she stayed on very well in the straight to finish fourth, beaten over four lengths, and she will relish this marked step up in distance.

Finding the winner’s circle on that occasion was the well-backed stablemate Camino Vino who landed an almighty punt for connections and both the second and third were previous winners, so it looked like a fairly hot race of its kind.

Although surprisingly Misty Cove’s pedigree mainly has speed in the family tree, there’s no doubt she will relish this trip judged on her debut effort and connections won’t be heading across the Irish Sea just to make up the numbers.S

She has a lovely draw in stall two so should get a good early position and with a few in here seeing the track for the first time, it looks like a good opportunity to get off the mark.
