Gamble Alert: Richard Fahey-trained runner smashed in tonight at Carlisle

Richard Fahey

Our resident horse racing expert Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 8.30pm at Carlisle tonight. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form the past month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

8.30 Carlisle

Running in the ‘Professional and Amateur Female Jockeys’ race, the closing race at Carlisle tonight is an interesting one. The Richard Fahey runner Viceregent has been subjected to quite a large gamble. Backed from highs of 12-1 into 11-2 in places, people are without doubt getting stuck into the well bred Nathaniel gelding.

The form of the yard has to be a real concern. Fahey has only trained one solitary winner from his last 78 runners. For a trainer with such high standards, that is an appalling run of form so there are clear issues at the yard at present. Is his luck about to change tonight with this runner? The market certainly believes so.

Viceregent was well beaten off at Haydock in June but he had excuses on the day as he is a horse that prefers a bit of juice in the ground. The ground is good tonight so is it going to be soft enough for him? All in all, I have my doubts as to whether this gamble can be landed. We have ground uncertainties and a yard out of form. Best of luck if you have a play!
