Five of Venetia Williams’ last eight runners have won and she sends one to Ludlow

It’s been an exceptional last few days for Herefordshire-based trainer Venetia Williams, who has had five winners from her last eight runners. She had an impressive 77/1 across the card treble on Saturday, which included stable star Royale Pagaille’s Betfair Chase win.

She’s set to have just the one runner at Ludlow on Monday so we’ve had a good look at the horse in question’s chances. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing but please gamble responsibly and remember to keep it fun!

1.15 Ludlow

Jo Lescribaa placed in a couple of French bumpers for Emmanuel Clayeux and made five starts over hurdles for Williams last season. The best of those efforts came when third in a novice hurdle at Leicester but the five-year-old is yet win.

There should be more to come in handicaps at this level and it has to be said that many of the yard’s horses improve significantly for fences.

Williams’ has had by far the fewest number of runners of any trainer in the top 15 of the trainers’ standings but her seven winners from 30 runners gives her a very respectable strike-rate of 23 per cent. She’s always one to follow when in good form and the yard will be looking to take full advantage.

Stable jockey Charlie Deutsch takes the ride and he’s been absolutely flying since his return from injury. Four of his last five rides have been winners and his strike-rate in the last fortnight is an impressive 50 per cent. He was imperious in the Betfair Chase aboard Royale Pagaille on Saturday and if his impressive form continues, he’ll give Jo Lescribaa every chance here.
