Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on New Year’s Day at Cheltenham. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly. Best of luck with your punting and we hope it is a successful one.
Diva Luna is going to take all the beating in the 2m4f maiden hurdle but at decent each-way odds, Fergal O’Brien’s Night Duty (40/1) could hit the frame. He wouldn’t have the scope for improvement as some of his rivals, but he travelled well for a long way when third in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Exeter latest and he should appreciate returning to maiden company. The point winner is very lightly raced for a nine-year-old and first-time cheekpieces might help.
Lounge Lizard (12/1) should be shorter than his current double-digit odds. He went well for a long way on his return at Carlisle when only headed late on, and his form when second behind Ga Law over course and distance last January reads very well. He had Paddy Power Gold Cup winner Il Ridoto behind him on the day and is only 5lb higher in the weights here so he should go well.
The O’Neill team have had a terrific Christmas already and it could get even better in the closing bumper with Danger Nap (22/1). It must be worth noting he unseated his rider on way to post for his debut at Aintree in November but he still ran a great race in second and this stiffer track should bring out more improvement.
