Sir Michael Stoute’s filly was an impressive winner on debut at Yarmouth in August and followed up in a Conditions race next time. Improvement is anticipated but will it be enough?

The least fancied of Aidan O’Brien’s three runners, she got off the mark at the third time of asking at Ascot but she has something to find on that form.

3. California Dreamer

This horse is the most exposed in the field and whilst her best form is pretty solid, others are preferred at this level.

4. Desert Flower

Charlie Appleby’s filly remains unbeaten in three starts and she comfortably got the better of January at Doncaster last month. She looks like the one to beat once again and another impressive performance is anticipated.

5. Dreamy

Tom Marquand takes the ride on this filly hailing from the Aidan O’Brien yard and the daughter of American Pharaoh has earned a shot in this grade, having won a Group 3 last time.

Ballydoyle’s first string based on jockey bookings, she’s progressing well but had no answer to Desert Flower at Doncaster.

7. Tabiti

She scored impressively on debut over 7f and just about got away with it when dropped to 6f at Salisbury. A mile should be no problem but she probably has a bit to find.

Trends

Aidan O’Brien, Joseph O’Brien and the Gosdens have won eight of the last 10 renewals of this race between them. Only Aidan O’Brien has runners here and he has three bites of the cherry.

Six of the last 10 winners have been favourites and this includes five of the last six. Don’t be scared off by short prices with that in mind.

Similarly, six of the last 10 winners were trying a mile for the first time, which bodes well for Tabiti, Anna Swan and California Dreamer.

Free tip

Desert Flower looks like the best filly in this division at the moment. Only Lake Victoria, who is absent here, would be likely to give her a run for her money. She could hardly have been more impressive in her first two starts and gave January no chance in the May Hill.
