Ed Walker sends one runner on the 767-mile round trip to Musselburgh 🚛

Ed Walker has been very selective with which horses he sends to Musselburgh and understandably so. It’s a 767-mile round trip from his Lambourn base to the Scottish track and that’s a costly journey. Walker has sent three runners up there so far this season and two of them have won. This gives him a 67 per cent strike-rate which is eye-catching indeed. He’s set to send one runner up to Musselburgh on Monday and it has to be of interest. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

4.10 Musselburgh

Mubhijah (5-2, William Hill) has been a terrifically consistent horse, placing seven times in 10 starts. She made her debut for this yard over 7f at Carlisle last time out and absolutely bolted up, winning by six lengths. The form doesn’t look too strong on the whole but the fifth did win its next start. It would have been a confidence-boosting victory and there’s a strong chance she’ll progress from here.

A nine-race maiden when trained by Roger Varian, it was a surprise that she never got off the mark. She was narrowly beaten in maiden and novice company by horses with current ratings of 90, 91 and 100 in the past which gives some real substance to her form.

Ed Walker’s filly runs off 78 here and that has to be a very competitive mark on handicap debut. Most of her rivals are fairly exposed at this point, especially those near her at the top end of the market. With this in mind, it’s hard to see her getting beaten here. Her trainer has every chance of bettering his strike-rate and boosting it up to 75 per cent.
