We have plenty of competitive racing to look forward to on Tuesday across Britain and Ireland with five meetings on so make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the day’s action. Now onto a trainer stat and Chepstow’s top trainer on the Flat in the last five years sends just one horse to the track. Could that be a tip in itself? Let’s find out more below.
Tony Carroll is the top trainer at Chepstow in the last five years, sending out 18 winners. The return of about 10% isn’t incredible but no trainer has sent more winners to the track in that time. Carroll sends Charlie Mason to the venue on Tuesday to take his chance in the 6f handicap, and at first glance he must hold every chance.
Charlie Mason won once from 11 starts when trained by David Evans, but the son of Mayson has improved gradually since joining the Carroll yard. He got off the mark for his new yard at the second attempt when winning on heavy ground at Windsor over this trip in May off a mark of 64, and still remains competitive off a 5lb higher mark now.
He was an unlucky loser at Kempton when last seen. Held up in the last pair early, he flew up the far rail inside the final furlong and only just failed to reel in The Real Mckay, who got first run on him. Now back on his preferred turf, he surely has to have a massive chance with a repeat effort. Regular rider William Carson replaces Oisin Murphy here.
