Thursday marks Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival and we have another phenomenal seven-race card to look forward. With the racing being so competitive, there are plenty of each-way opportunities on offer, so we’ve picked out some potentially overpriced runners across the card. These include a 33/1 Irish raider in the opening race of the day, who has a better chance than her current odds suggest. Take a look at our free tips page and we also have Cheltenham Day 3 selections available to view now.
Amen Kate (33/1, bet365) won a maiden hurdle at Gowran in good style back in October but didn’t get further than the first flight at Punchestown after that. Thomas Cooper’s mare returned to winning ways with Jack Kennedy on board in a Listed contest when last seen and shouldn’t be dismissed.
Western Knight (28/1, Betfred) wasn’t disgraced when runner-up in the Reynoldstown last time out and he should be suited by the drop back in trip. Joe Tizzard’s gelding won comfortably over 2m3f at Doncaster before that and 136 could prove to be a pretty generous mark.
Minella Sixo (22/1, bet365) had been way off it in his first three starts this season but qualified for the Pertemps Final with a much improved performance at Naas last month. He only just failed to get up that day and the winner is considerably shorter in the market here. The Naas form suggests there isn’t too much between them and Gordon Elliott’s runner can put in a big performance here.
The Enabler (18/1, Betfred) needs to prove his stamina for the trip but can definitely go close here if doing so. Gordon Elliott’s seven-year-old won a novice chase at Fairyhouse in good style back in December and may have been too aggressively ridden when third in a Naas Grade 3. Handicaps can facilitate some improvement and he appears to be on a nice mark.
