Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running at Chelmsford Racecourse on Thursday. The treble returns great odds of 97/1 at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Liseo is a former course and distance winner who won here in September, and he was a big eyecatcher when fourth at Kempton last time, staying on from a tough position with full of running left. He has to be in the mix and he still has a relatively unexposed profile.
Riot got back to winning ways when landing a competitive handicap over track and trip three weeks ago. He is only up 2lb for that which is more than fair and is a big player if he can overcome a high draw. David O’Meara does very well in these races on an artificial surface and he should be a big player once again.
Diomed Spirit won at Wolverhampton in October and came back from a break to win again here at Chelmsford last time out, hitting the line hard. Stuart Williams’ charge could be hard to beat in this sort of form. The likely danger could be recent scorer Star Of Lady M, who was very impressive when getting the better of El Hombre at Lingfield.
