The weekend most Flat racing fans have been waiting for is now upon us as the Breeders’ Cup 2025 is set to be staged at Del Mar on Friday and Saturday. The European challenge looks quite strong again this year and they may well take five or six races across the two days if things go well. Adrian Wall has highlighted three longshots for Friday night’s action but you can find our free Breeders’ Cup tips, including an accumulator, on our website right now!
Aidan O’Brien has three strong contenders here but perhaps it’s James Owen’s Aspect Island who represents the each-way value in the contest. A wide-margin winner of a Yarmouth handicap in September, the colt was just behind the reopposing Brussels when third in a Newmarket Group 3 on latest and he likes to run from the front which will suit around here.
Perhaps completely overlooked in the market and wrongly so, Andrew Balding’s Pacific Mission has a chance in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf in the hands of Colin Keane, who is riding for his owners, Juddmonte. A winner at Kempton on her second start, she was just touched off in the Group 2 May Hill at Doncaster when last seen and she has the scope to improve again.
Joseph O’Brien’s North Coast looks the each-way play in the closing Grade 1 of the night. He disappointed in the National Stakes at the Curragh when last seen but his prior run at Leopardstown was scintillating and this ground will suit him.
