Leading owner JP McManus loves his big-day victories and he only has two runners on Friday. Both of them run at Ascot and both are currently favourite for their assignments. There’s no doubt many will be latching onto the double and if it lands the bookmakers could take a good hit. Before we move on and discuss both, you can find all of today’s free horse racing tips on the website!

1.55 Ascot

The first McManus runner is Iberico Lord in the extended 2m handicap chase and with three runners to beat, he must have a good opportunity. The six-year-old won a couple of good pots over hurdles last season, namely the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham and the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury. Sent off an 11/1 chance for the Champion Hurdle, he was pulled up on the day, but he got the job done on his chasing debut at Kempton last month and should come on a bundle for the run. If there is to be a danger, Here Comes Georgie isn’t to be underestimated despite being 6lb wrong at the weights. He’s in terrific form!

3.05 Ascot

The final leg of the McManus double is Johnnywho, running in the feature Grade 2 novices’ chase over 2m3f for the O’Neills. This boy failed to live up to expectations over hurdles last season, but he got the job done on his chasing bow at Carlisle. He ran a flat race when last seen in a Newbury Grade 2 behind The Jukebox Man, but he’s unexposed in this sphere and with the yard in flying form this season, he could be hard to beat.
