Ascot Champions Day: three runners to put into your accumulator on Saturday

One of the highlights of the Flat season is Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse and unusually for time of the year, the mud isn’t going to be flying so looking for horses that handle quicker ground will be key. There are three runners at Ascot who could be worth siding with and we have put the three into an acca. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for tips for every race on the card, which will be live on ITV.

12.55 Ascot

Trawlerman won is race in 2023 and was third behind Kyprios in the race last season, but doesn’t have to worry about that runner this year. Sporting the Godolphin colours, he has established himself as the best stayer this season, winning the Ascot Gold Cup in June and the Lonsdale Cup at York in August. Sweet William could be his biggest challenger but he should have more than enough, and he handles quicker ground just fine.

1.30 Ascot

Words Of Truth can land the inaugural QIPCO British Champions Day Two-Year-Old Conditions Stakes. He stretched his unbeaten record to three when landing the Mill Reef at Newbury when last seen and it could be the perfect start to the day for Godolphin.

3.25 Ascot

Field Of Gold posted an incredible performance was landing the Irish 2,000 Guineas and at Royal Ascot and if he’s back to his best since sustaining an injury when beaten in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, he will win!
