It was another day to remember for followers of Adrian Wall’s ITV outsiders column last Saturday as Twig, advised at a massive 33/1, saw off the gallant Mr Vango in a thrilling finish at Aintree! Adrian then had a 16/1 winner on his next column! Adrian is back with ITV outsiders for Saturday’s action! Read on for more info.
Sunday Soldier (28/1) won over hurdles at the 2m4f trip and she showed ability on her chasing bow when fourth at Bangor. She failed to improve on that when fourth to Kalista Love over 2m4f at Warwick last month but she is worth another chance off a workable mark.
Martator (16/1) is yet to fully convince around Cheltenham but he stayed on to good effect when second at Ascot off 139 last month and should be capable of getting involved from 2lb higher if in similar mood. He’s very effective at this distance and on left-hand tracks so looks too big a price to ignore.
Big Cadillac (20/1) will have to be a good sort to see off the likes of Conman John but he was picked up for £95,000 after winning his only start on the point scene in 2024 and he won nicely on rules debut in a Chepstow bumper on heavy ground in January. He looked in need of the run on hurdles bow but should be sharper now.
Pretending (20/1) really enjoys this course and distance, winning a valuable mares’ series final handicap in April of last year and was third in this year’s renewal of the race last term. She was below-par on return at Kempton but should be sharper now.
