Virtue Patience was a winner at this track back in March before running well below par in a handicap at Newbury when last seen. Something was amiss that day but now returns off the back of a wind operation and has to be considered as a consequence.
Counsel is a son of Frankel who has won three times around Lingfield but he was below his best when down the field at Chelmsford four weeks ago, racing far too keenly early on and paying the price later in the contest. He can’t be ruled out back at his favourite track.
Cage Rattler is yet to win a race over hurdles but he ran one of his better races last time when fourth of 11 here over 2m4f just ten days ago. The handicapper has dropped him in the weights again and he could improve for the step up in trip.
Banana was well below her best on the grass at Bath when last seen but she was a solid runner-up over this course and distance on her penultimate start from just 2lb lower and a repeat of that would bring her right into this. Both of her wins to date have come on turf, but she has proven to be equally as good on an artificial surface.
