Now the retained rider for Juddmonte, Colin Keane will have work for the boss on Friday as he will head to Haydock for just one ride. However, he also has several rides booked at Dundalk on Friday night which makes his Haydock ride even more interesting. Let’s take a look at the horse in more detail below.
The horse in question is the John & Thady Gosden runner Accredit who will make his third racecourse start in the 1m novice at Haydock. It is Keane’s sole ride on the card and he looks a very likely winner at first glance.
The 2yo son of Dubawi went into many a notebook after his debut run when finishing third over 7f at Sandown in August. Sent off favourite on the day, a very slow start scuppered his winning chance, but he made up eyecatching ground late on to be beaten less than two lengths.
This boy can get very worked up down at the start and he was sweating badly before entering the stalls for his three-runner assignment at the same venue last month. He overcame greenness and racing freely to beat his two rivals very nicely in the end.
That form doesn’t look strong at all and this looks much tougher having to concede lumps of weight to the entire field, but at the same time it’s likely that we haven’t seen the best of him yet. He is out of a half-sister to Enable who of course is a household name but the yard is doing only okay with three winners from their last 25 runners. Let’s see how it pans out.
