6.09pm Crayford Race Preview 05/07/2018

Brighton and Hove Greyhounds Stadium

It’s our newest addition to the team who the myracing greyhound syndicate will be waiting round for until the final race on the card. Jacobs Fire has shown promise so far despite it being so early in her career. Hove will be the track of choice for our greyhound tips tonight which will be up about the same time our girl heads to the traps.

6.09pm Crayford 05/07/2018 A6 Grade

Trap 1 Jacobs Miler – Mind your Jacobs here! Slow starting veteran had to slip down to A7 to get her head back in front. Only one win in her last sixteen starts at this level, she stays this trip strongly but she may give others too much rope to claw them back in again.

Trap 2 Metric Lisa – Inconsistent trapper but has hit the lids at the right time the last twice she has been dropped to this level. She is flanked by a pair of slow starters here so a repeat of either her 23.79 or 23.80 victories here would make her a leading player.

Trap 3 Jacobs Fire – Slow starter has shown plenty of ability running on powerfully to the pickup on each start. She won’t be seen to best effect until she steps up in trip but she needs to learn her trade over this distance first. Would be a big player if she found her trapping boots.

Trap 4 Micky The Cheese – Missed almost six months of action but has made up for lost time with A8 and A7 wins since his return. 0/12 at this level in the past so he is going to have to produce a career-best run here, with 24.01 his best since his return.

Trap 5 Pure Product – Three wins from his last five starts at a lower level, he is 0/14 when competing above A7 grade. Has the odd turn of early pace which could be a help to him in a race that lacks a lot of early boot, may be able to get into the mix.

Trap 6 Newlawn Colin – Slow starter was A4 back in January, having to slip all the way to A7 before getting his head back in front. He produced a very smart time there which would make him dangerous if he can reproduce it but he is not the most reliable.

Conclusion

We won’t see the best of Jacobs Fire until she goes over further but she showed enough in trials to think that she can win at this trip if she learns how to trap. As it stands, the 2 looks a big player given that she has a peach of a draw with slow starters on either side. The 6 would be a player if he can reproduce his recent A7 win at this higher level, but he isn’t the most consistent.
