441-1 double: top Irish jockey Shane Foley heads to Newmarket on Thursday ✈️

Shane Foley is one of Ireland’s finest jockeys and has ridden big winners all over the world. We’re used to seeing him come over to Britain to ride for Jessica Harrington but he travels to Newmarket on Thursday to ride for a couple of British trainers. The horses in question are trained by John & Thady Gosden and Karl Burke so it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.50 Newmarket

Synchronize (16-1, bet365) is an interesting debutant for John & Thady Gosden. This son of Frankel cost a whopping 700,000 guineas and one can assume that expectations are high. There’s plenty to like about his pedigree, as his dam is an unraced half-sister to a Listed winner and enough reason to assume that a mile is a sensible starting point. The Gosdens haven’t been particularly prolific with their juveniles so far this season but theirs do tend to start winning in the latter stages of the season.

3.35 Newmarket

Victory Shout (25-1, bet365) is another potentially smart juvenile for Karl Burke. He’s showing significant improvement with every start and absolutely bolted up at Carlisle over a mile last time. That came off the back of a much improved effort at Haydock, where he finished a close up fourth. He was also an expensive purchase at €350,000 and there is plenty of Group 3 form in his pedigree. Returning to 7f shouldn’t be a problem, despite winning over a stiff mile at Carlisle. It would be unwise to rule out further improvement and his trainer has 47 juvenile winners so far this season.
