Trainer: Henk Grewe
Jockey: Lukas Delozier
Won the German Derby in 2021 and his form is closely tied in with Simca Mille in Germany in August. Finished last of six runners at Baden Baden latest and looks out of his depth.
Trainer: A. Fouassier
Jockey: Gerald Mosse
Has important track form when landing a Group 3 over course and distance in May. Needed the spin out five weeks ago and this has been the plan for the year, but his overall form leaves him with lots to find.
Trainer: Fabrice Chappet
Jockey: Maxime Guyon
Won the Grand Prix de Paris over course and distance last year and went on to finish second in the Irish Champion Stakes. Got no luck in running in this race last year and hasn’t done much this year in two starts. Hard to fancy.
Trainer: S. Wattel
Jockey: Alexis Pouchin
Won the Prix Niel over course and distance last year and has been in brilliant form this season, forging clear in a German Group 1 when last seen. Needs more though and the draw out in 15 could be a disaster.
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute
Jockey: Richard Kingscote
Came back from an absence of 80 days to win the Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton three weeks ago very comfortably. He loves soft ground so conditions could be ideal and he is a former Champion Stakes winner, so everything looks set for a big run.
Trainer: Ralph Beckett
Jockey: Rob Horby
Won the Irish Derby last year and finished sixth in this race last year. He was only just beaten by Hukum in the King George at Ascot and there’s every chance he can reverse the form with that rival with the dream rail draw in stall one.
Trainer: Owen Burrows
Jockey: Jim Crowley
Showed huge grit and determination when getting the better of Westover in the King George at Ascot. However, that rival has a much better draw this time around with Hukum out in stall 14. Draw aside, he brings strong form to the table.
Trainer: A. Fabre
Jockey: Mickael Barzalona
Won the Prix de L’Opera last year and won the Prix Foy over course and distance three weeks ago preparing for this. This is a horse with a progressive profile and she enters the mix of contenders.
Trainer: Tomohito Ozeki
Jockey: Christophe Lemaire
It’s only a matter of time before Japan win this race and they have a chance this year. This girl ran a huge race behind the amazing Equinox at Hanshin in June. She will be ready to rock, should stay the trip, and Lemaire is 3-3 on her.
Trainer: John & Thady Gosden
Jockey: Frankie Dettori
Very smart girl who won at York on her seasonal return and went close in the Yorkshire Oaks, the form of which has been franked. More needed but Dettori has an incredible record in the race and she isn’t dismissed.
Trainer: Henk Grewe
Jockey: Bauyrzhan Murzabayev
Finished second to Fantastic Moon in the German Derby before beaten in a Baden-Baden Group 1 when last seen. Will stay but has too much to find.
Trainer: P. Bary
Jockey: Christophe Soumillon
Won the Grand Prix de Paris over course and distance in July and ran OK behind Fantastic Moon in the Prix Niel here when given far too much to do. Has a lovely draw so a bounce back could be on the cards.
Trainer: Jean-Claude Rouget
Jockey: Cristian Demuro
Unbeaten in five runs, Ace Impact destroyed his rivals in a good French Derby in June. He won at Deauville when last seen, should stay the trip and he looks the class act in the race.
Trainer: Sarah Steinberg
Jockey: Rene Piechulek
German Derby winner who was supplemented for this late on after winning the Prix Niel last month. He has plenty of class and lots of stamina and although he has a bit to find, he has a chance.
Trainer: Aidan O’Brien
Jockey: Ryan Moore
Won last month’s St Leger in great style and has been supplemented by the master himself. However, he was beaten half the track by Ace Impact when the pair met and the percentage call is to oppose.
This looks like a weak enough renewal of the Arc and with that in mind, the unbeaten Ace Impact could prove to be head and shoulders above his rivals. The vibes from the camp have been very strong and on a line through Continuous, he looks far too good for these.
