2/2 in 2022: Patrick Mullins heads to Laytown for just one ride on Tuesday 🔎

Laytown is Ireland’s famous beach track and their annual meeting is set to take place on Tuesday. It’s always good fun and the atmosphere is sure to be a good one. Patrick Mullins had two rides at the track in 2022 and came away with two winners. This gave him a 100 percent record at the course last year which is enviable indeed.

Mullins is set to take just one ride there on Tuesday for the same trainer he won the corresponding race for last year. This could be significant and pertinent information as it certainly seems interesting. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

6.45 Laytown

Hightimeyouwon (7-2, Paddy Power) certainly hasn’t disappointed his connections so far this season. Adrian McGuinness’ charge has already won twice during the current campaign, including at Leopardstown last time out. It was a good performance that day and he kept on nicely to take control of the race late on. Reappearing off the same mark here, it would be reasonable to expect a similar level of performance once again, despite the fact that he doesn’t have the assistance of a 5lb claimer here.

It’s also noteworthy that he has won on an artificial surface, having scored on the all-weather at Dundalk. This should stand him in good stead for the rather unique test that he’ll face here at Laytown.

McGuinness has won this race three times in the last 10 years and Mullins has won it twice. The pair combined to win this race last year and it would be unwise to rule them out once again. There’s plenty of evidence in the formbook to suggest he’s capable of winning this and Patrick Mullins will be keen to extend his unbeaten run.
