Ballydoyle had a really expensive £2,100,000 horse in the form of Galveston flop on his debut at Naas recently so it just shows it doesn’t all work out. In saying that, it’s still very early days for that boy and he could still turn out to be a very classy horse as he goes up in trip. On Tuesday, Aidan O’Brien will unleash a very expensive filly so let’s take a look at here credentials below. Making her debut in the 1m fillies’ maiden at Cork on Tuesday is Minnie Hauk and Wayne Lordan is booked for the ride. Ryan Moore will not be at Cork for this card. This is a supremely well-bred daughter of Frankel who cost a staggering $1,850,000 as a yearling and she has been found a nice race for her introduction.
This filly is a half-sister to two winners, including 1m winner Tilsit who won a Group 2 and achieved a Racing Post Rating of 118. Her dam only raced once but she is a sister to the 1m2f Group 3 winner Remote, and a half-sister to the incredible Kingman, and out of French 1,000 Guineas winner Zenda.
Make no mistake, Minnie Hauk is bred to be very smart but we won’t know until she goes out there and does it. There’s a fair chance she will be sent off favourite first time and she might offer no value at all in that respect. There’s also a chance she’s going to need the run. Tilsit needed the run first time too.
