Ryan Moore is up for the first time which is very interesting and this step back in trip is unlikely to be a problem as he has the raw speed for it. Richard Hannon is continuing to bang in the winners and he looks the likeliest winner of this competitive race

Making a bright start this season for Mark Johnston, Rich And Famous will be looking to make it two wins from three in handicap company in this. He made his handicap debut on return at Newmarket off a mark of 86 where he finished a creditable second behind a run away winner and eight days later off the same mark he would go one better to land a Doncaster handicap with an all the way win. He has been raised 7lb as a result and he remains of interest as he will have the speed for five furlongs, as if he can get to the lead he’ll be stretching these from the front. That however looks unlikely as being drawn in stall eight is no blessing and he will have to burn latest some energy to get into that position, which has to be noted. He’ll be given the best possible chance by Franny Norton though and shouldn’t be ignored just because of his draw.

Finishing second on both his runs this season for Robert Cowell, Evergate has to enter calculations on the back of those two runs for this new yard. He returned at Wolverhampton on the all weather when second and he build on that run when back on the grass at Bath to finish second at Bath, far from disgraced when headed in the closing stages. He has been raised 2lb as a result but he remains with potential and is tactically versatile for a yard who have a 20% strike rate form their last fifteen runners. Stall three gives him the chance to attack under Joe Fanning and he’s another who needs to be considered in a wide open race.

Although it has to be a slightly concern that Ryan Moore has shunned her for this run, Partitia will still be getting a great ride from Andrea Atzeni and deserves a mention. A winner at Chester in August in a conditions race, she was far from disgraced on handicap debut at Sandown in April when seventh, slowly away and never able to get involved from that point. She has been dropped 2lb in the handicap as a result and if breaking on terms with conditions to suit, she’d have a big each way chance for powerful connections. Sir Michael Stoute has a 32% strike rate from his last 32 runners and this three year old filly still remains with potential, so she should take a step forward in this.

The draw at Chester is crucial and no horse has a better one than Rosabelle, who will be launching herself from the plum draw in one. She has proved herself to suit the bends around the course in the past with form figures of 121 when competing at Chester, taking that win on her second career start in a maiden. She was last seen in September when winning a five furlong nursery here and as a result she has been raised 7lb, but that win was comfortable as she made all and she has the ample opportunity to do the same again in this. She remains largely unexposed with only six runs under her belt and her claims are crystal clear under David Probert, so she has to be considered.
