The 2:10 Fontwell is an intriguing 5 runner Class 3 Handicap, in which some talented horses go to battle. See our race full race preview and betting tips below where we put forward the youngest horse in the field, who had been performing well in valuable juvenile races back in the spring.
IN SUMMARY: Mia’s Storm and Mystic Sky both command a huge amount of respect on the back of recent wins, however this race may go to CULTURE DE SIVOLA. Nick William’s 4yo reached the frame in two valuable juvenile handicaps in the spring and with Lizzie Kelly taking off a useful 5lb, he could well improve sufficiently to take this race.
1 MIA’S STORM – Didn’t set the world ablaze initially over hurdles but came good with two good successes, the latter of which when coming away readily at Newton Abbot back in May (2m5f, Good). Has scope to improve and the King yard has hit form so his 6yo has to command a huge amount of respect.
2 MYSTIC SKY – Forged clear in good style when winning well at Market Rasen back in May (2m2f, Good) and was steadily improving with every run before that easy victory. No reason why she shouldn’t go well today and needs respecting.
3 CULTURE DE SIVOLA – 2 good efforts in some valuable juvenile hurdles back in the spring, the latest of which when 3rd in the Prix Grand Croc in September (2m2f, Very Soft). Youngest in the field and has the advantage of match fitness over Mia’s Storm and Mystic Sky which could prove vital, and with Lizzie Kelly’s good 5lb valuable claim factored in, she should make his presence felt.
4 ALYA’S EMPEROR – Won twice in the spring at Newton Abbot and Fakenham but was readily held at Uttoxeter her latest hurdle start in July (2m3f, Good). Ran poorly on return last month on the flat and probably best left alone on what seems to be a tough current mark.
5 MIDTECH VALENTINE – Notched up two wins in March at Warwick (2m, Soft) and Ludlow (2m, Good) in a busy 11 day period where she ran three times. Was holding her form nicely however and turned in a career best when 2nd at Market Rasen back in May (2m,Good). That form was boosted by the winner coming out and winning again at Ascot in a 0-120 Novices Handicap at Ascot, and could run well upped in trip if staying.
myracing Forecast Prices: 1/1 Mia’s Storm, 13/8 Mystic Sky, 3/1 Culture De Sivola, 4/1 Midtech Valentine, 12/1 Ayla’s Emperor
