IN SUMMARY: Big Casino was back to form latest when 2nd at Uttoxeter and remains below his last winning mark despite being raised 3lb. He isn’t however one to rely on and it may be worth taking a chance on LADFROMHIGHWORTH. Although tailed off latest at Uttoxeter, the handicapper has given him a chance and this longer trip may well be a help, so he handed the vote today.

1 BIG CASINO – Back to form latest when 2nd at Uttoxeter (3m, Good to Soft), and remains below his latest winning mark despite a 3lb rise. He is not however one to rely on very heavily, and there have been more bad efforts than good, so at a likely short price he could be a risky proposition.

2 CYRIEN STAR – Won this race last year but refused to race last Friday and hasn’t completed a race since January, pulling up twice before that refusal to race. Very risky and not recommended.

3 FOUNDATION MAN – Took advantage of his reduced mark when winning at Warwick latest (2m4f, Good), not impressing particularly in the jumping department. Was below par however twice before that effort and there is no proof that he stays this trip well, which tempers enthusiasm. Place claims if managing to stay.

4 LADFROMHIGHWORTH – Didn’t impress when tailing off at Uttoxeter latest (2m4f, Good), but the handicapper has now given him a chance at the weights. Has posted some solid efforts previously, with a good and consistent sequence that lasted from July 2014 all the way through to June this year, with only 1 truly poor effort out of 12 races. Has won at this trip before so that holds no fears and if bouncing back from his latest effort he should be more than involved come the finish.

5 CRUCHAIN – Old timer (13yo) who has been running reasonably well of late, with his latest win coming back in June at this course (2m4f, Soft). Can’t be discounted in a field full of inconsistency and could be involved, but there is a slight question mark on the ground.

6 KILCASAN – All out and just held on when winning at Uttoxeter back in July (2m7f, Good), when last seen. Very game horse who should give another good account, being a C&D winner and definitely has place claims.
