IN SUMMARY: BREATHOFFRESHAIR goes in search of a hat-trick of wins today and races without a penalty for a 2-length success last time out. This is his to lose and he should take all the beating. Kroy was 3/4 of a length behind the selection earlier in the season and can follow him home in second again now switched to a faster surface.
SANTAFIORA – Makes her first start for Julie Camacho today having left the Roger Charlton yard. She won on racecourse debut over an extended 5f on Soft ground and she’s not gone on since then. She’s down a further 3lbs in the handicap today and kept to Class 6 company.
NIGHT SHADOW – Sole success came at Wolverhampton earlier in the year over 6f. He’s back down to his last winning mark here but he was beaten 12 1/2 lengths last time out over 7f and connections have to hope the drop back to 6f will work.
KROY – Narrowly beaten over 7f here earlier in the month off a one pound lower mark. He disappointed when sent off the 2/1 favourite at Southwell and the switch back to this faster surface will suit. C&D winner commands respect in this weak event.
DREAM START – 11-race maiden who was beaten 30 lengths in a Claimer at Chelmsford last time out. She’s impossible to recommend on the back of that form and her inconsistency makes her incredibly hard to predict.
MALDONADO – Won over 7f on Good ground at Epsom last year and he has struggled over varying trips this year. He’s sunk down the weights from a mark of 84 to today’s rating of 59 and market support would be incredibly significant.
FIKHAAR – Lightly-raced filly who produced her best effort to win a Class 6 handicap at Chelmsford two starts ago. She’s down a pound following a disappointing run at Kempton last time out but she retains potential and is worthy of respect here.
NIGHT LAW – Another runner dropping through the weights and she’s shown virtually nothing in four starts for Barry John Murphy. She’s been brought across from Ireland for this race off a fresh career low mark so the betting should be revealing.
YORKSHIRE ROVER – Won a Class 6 handicap at Yarmouth off a 4lb lower mark on his last start for David Brown. He makes his stable debut today for Colin Teague off a break and he’s best watched with a break to overcome.
LITTLE MISS LOLA – Won a 5f sprint at this track earlier in the month off a mark of 52 and she’s only been raised a couple of pounds for that success. She remains relatively well-treated and the useful Jamie Gormley gets on-board today. Respected.
BREATHOFFRESHAIR – Goes in search of a hat-trick of wins today. He beat Kroy two starts ago by 3/4 of a length and he followed that effort up with a C&D win last time out. He races without a penalty today and commands the utmost respect on these terms.
LITTLE KINGDOM – Finished 14 lengths behind Breathoffreshair last time out and although sliding through the weights, looks up against it again here. She does have a win over 5f at this track to her name but like many in this field, is far too inconsistent.
MR ENTHUSIASTIC – Did well to win a Catterick handicap in October at a big price off a 2lb lower mark. He ran with credit at Southwell last time out and the switch to a faster surface shouldn’t be an issue here.
NARALSAIF – 7-race maiden and she’s stepped back up to 6f today having found 5f too short on her last two assignments. She’s down again in the handicap but she needs to do more before convincing she’s racing off a winnable mark.
FINTRY FLYER – 5-race maiden who has only beaten a handful of rivals in five career starts. She’s been sent off no shorter than 33/1 in the betting and it should be a similar story here today. Opposed.
